Since February 24, about 400,00 Ukrainian nationals have entered Romania, according to the Border Police.

President Klaus Iohannis spoke of the “humanitarian tragedy” that has forced hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians to flee their homes during a weekend visit to a refugee camp in Siret, northern Romania.

He stated that no Ukrainian would be turned away if they wished to enter the country, and that Romania was in talks with the Republic of Moldova to assist them as well, as Moldova is also experiencing a significant number of migrants.

In order to assist those who remain in Ukraine, the president stated that a humanitarian aid logistic hub would be established in Suceava County, adjacent to the airport.
