India calls ‘immediate de-escalation’

On the same day that Russian President Vladimir Putin announced his plan to commence a’military operation’ in eastern Ukraine, India urged for an immediate de-escalation of tensions between Russia and Ukraine, warning that the situation is in danger of escalating into a catastrophic crisis.

India expressed its “grave concern” over the developments, which, if not managed carefully, might jeopardise the region’s peace and security.
India demanded an immediate de-escalation of the situation and a halt to any additional actions that could exacerbate the situation.
