On Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin upgraded the alert level of his nuclear weapons to “special battle readiness,” raising the grim threat of an all-out nuclear war over the Ukraine situation.
The development came after the United States and its G7 allies tightened sanctions, effectively shutting Russia off from the international financial system.
