Uddhav Thackeray Steps Down Before No-Trust Vote

By claiming the backing of over 40 (out of 55) Sena MLAs, Eknath Shinde has brought the Maharashtra government dangerously close to dissolution.

Today, the Supreme Court approved tomorrow’s Maharashtra Assembly no-trust vote.
The conclusion of the writ petition will determine whether or not there will be a no-trust vote in the end, the court said, and both sides will have two days to file a response. The petitions will be heard on July 11 if there are any.
